Textual Analysis for music video and website

 One republic website-

Inspiration from One Republic website through the tours listed on the main homepage of the website as one of the first things you see when you load onto it.

Inspiration from One Republic website by having a section on my website that links social medias and also promotes new released singles. There's also a section for videos made by One Republic so the audience can find all the popular songs.

I took inspiration from One Republic as on my website the first thing you see when it loads is the main band and who is apart of it so the audience have a clear idea of who we are straight away.

Tom Odell- Another Love music video

The video starts off with an extreme close up with Tom staring directly at the camera with a washed up colour scheme in the background to match the tone of the song.

Tom continues to stare directly at the camera singing the lyrics at the song. The camera continues to zoom out more and more gradually and the colour gradually gets less washed out as the song continues.

The video zooms out to the point where it is revealed that Tom is sat in an arm chair still singing the lyrics and staring at the camera. He is completely oblivious to his surroundings such as his girlfriend packing her belongings and slowly fading. The colours are still gradually getting more and more saturated.

As the tempo increases the camera starts to zoom out it starts to shake as the volume of the song gets louder to give it an earth quake effect. Since the girlfriend left Tom, the colours of the room have gotten brighter and more saturated to the point where colour and decoration is showing in the room. Tom still continues to sing.

Tom's ex girlfriend comes back into the room and continues to trash his house and start an argument. The camera starts to shake even more and Tom continues to ignore his surroundings and focuses on singing and keep staring at the camera. The colour scheme is slowly getting darker and more washed out like it was at the start of the video and the camera starts zooming in more and out more and mixes up.

The video then cuts to an extreme close up of Tom once again and does a full loop to what it looks like at the very start of the video. Tom looks like he's gone through more trauma in this frame than at the start. The music tempo dies down and goes slower and quiet like it did at the start of the video. The colours reverted back to how they were at the start with the dull tone and washed out looks to match the style of the song. The music video was done all in one shot with just the surroundings changing overtime.
