Textual Analysis for music video and website

 One republic website- Inspiration from One Republic website through the tours listed on the main homepage of the website as one of the first things you see when you load onto it. Inspiration from One Republic website by having a section on my website that links social medias and also promotes new released singles. There's also a section for videos made by One Republic so the audience can find all the popular songs. I took inspiration from One Republic as on my website the first thing you see when it loads is the main band and who is apart of it so the audience have a clear idea of who we are straight away. Genre- pop music (narrative music video) Band name- Oblivion  Song- Be Alright by Dean Lewis Cast-  Danny- Main Protagonist, Male Ben- Friend of main protagonist, Male Emmy- Love interest of main protagonist, Female Audience- aimed at 16-25 year olds as the main audience Fashion style- Dull clothes (Grey, Black, White) and 'washed out' colours to match the tone and colours of the music video  Basic ideas Starts off with main character being alone and shows how lonely he is. Starts with a photo book to show that he wasn't always alone and something must of happened to his partner, creating an enigma. 1 - Semiotics - Roland Barthes (advertising, music videos, newspapers, magazines, online media) • Media products communicate a complex series of meanings to their audiences through a range of visual codes and technical codes. These codes can broadly be divided in to proairetic, symbolic, hermeneutic, referential, and so on. • After many years of codes being repeated, their meaning can become generally agreed upon by society.
